1999 speak

by

Ok so I had to blog about this: right now I’m in a lecture at my university and the lecture is in dutch. So the guy keeps on throwing in words (in english) like ‘corporate data model’, ‘context sensitive’ and of course everyone’s favorite ‘return on investment’. So first up why do people insist on using these words as if it still is 1999. Second why do people use a language other than their own? Especially in lectures throwing in these words is meaningless. This could all be frustration on my part, sure hope it isn’t a trend coming to hunt us from the past.
